Important News

As we collectively and individually seek to serve the Lord in this area there are a wide range of ministries in which we are involved. The list below outlines the key ministries in which Woodford Gospel Assembly is involved.

Lord's Day Breaking of Bread.

The Lord’s Supper is a memorial feast at which believers worship the Lord and show forth His death until He comes again. In accordance with the early church, the Lord’s supper should be celebrated every Sunday, which is the Lord’s day. This memorial feast involves bread (symbolising the body of Christ) and wine (symbolising the blood of Christ) of which each person who is saved and walking in fellowship with the Lord can partake. Find out more in our statement of doctrine.

Sunday School & Bible Class

Every Sunday morning, before the breaking of bread service, we have a Sunday School & Bible Class. This runs from September through to the end of May. It caters for a wide range of age groups from 4 years old upwards to late teens. Children and young people from anywhere are welcome. Our aim is teach children and young people the scriptures and the truths therein.

Gospel Meeting

This is one of the key outreaches which the assembly uses. Every Sunday evening various speakers come along to spread the good news that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners. We spend time singing and often there will be a soloist or someone sharing their testimony in addition to speaker who comes along.

Prayer Meeting

Prayer is a wonderful privilege that each believer has. To be able to enter into the presence of a Holy God through our Saviour Jesus Christ, to worship Him, confess our sins and cast our cares at His feet knowing that He hears our prayers. We meet at various times during the week to collectively pray for the needs (both spiritual and physical) of our assembly, those within it, those in our wider family circles and those in our community. If you have a prayer request contact us.

Bible Study

The assembly accepts the Bible as its divinely inspired authority in all matters. The Bible is central to all that we believe and do, whether as an assembly or as individuals. You can find more about what we believe the Bible teaches by clicking on About Us. Perhaps you want to read the Bible for yourself and you can do this online (see our links page).

Every Boy's & Every Girl's Rally

The Bible says in Ecclesiastes chapter 12 verse 1

"Remember now thy Creator in the days of thy youth".

The aims of the Rally work are

  • To lead boys and girls to a personal knowledge of Jesus Christ as Saviour and Lord and to help them grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.
  • To teach them how to develop a strong Christian character through a balanced spiritual, educational, physical and social programme which will cater for the well-being of the whole person.

As the name implies Every Boy’s and Every Girl’s Rally welcome every boy and girl irrespective of class, religion or culture. The Rally programme caters for boys and girls from 4 years old – "Tiny Tots" or "Sparrows", through Juniors, Seniors and Cadets. The Rally provides an outlet of service for many members of the Assembly.
